In a recent twist, Savannah Chrisley has slammed the judge who upheld her mother Julie Chrisley’s prison sentence. Savannah, already deeply involved in advocating for her parents, accused the federal judge, Eleanor L. Ross, of retaliating against her and her family due to their outspoken efforts. Speaking on her Unlocked Podcast, Savannah stated:
“I truly do believe that this judge, everything that she has done has been in retaliation. It has been in retaliation for us exercising our right to an appeal and being granted, in part, a successful appeal.”
Savannah didn’t hold back, claiming the judge’s actions went beyond legal matters, accusing Ross of taking personal offense to her outspoken nature. According to Savannah, during a sentencing hearing for Julie, it felt like a “punch in the gut” when the judge indirectly reprimanded her.
She elaborated, saying: “To think that I did something that harmed my mother’s ability to be a free woman, that once stung really bad. That was her way of telling me, ‘You better shut up because it’s only going to get worse for you.'”
Despite the emotional blow, Savannah made it clear she’s not backing down, insisting she has nothing left to lose now. “My mom’s in there, my dad’s in there… what do I have to lose? I have nothing to lose and everything to gain,” she added, continuing her fight for her family’s freedom.
Earlier this year, Julie’s conviction was upheld, but her sentence was overturned by a three-judge panel. However, the resentencing hearing didn’t go as hoped, and her original sentence of seven years was reinstated. Before the judge’s ruling, Julie expressed her remorse, saying:
“I would like to say I’ve had years to think about what I’ve wanted to say, and I’m sorry for my actions and situations that led us to where we are today. I’ve had 20 months in prison, but it’s been much more leading up to the trial, and I apologize for my actions.”
Julie went on to explain that she has been working hard to improve herself during her time behind bars, taking courses and learning new skills. She emphasized how difficult the entire experience has been, especially for her children.
As for Todd Chrisley, his appeal was rejected, leaving the family with even more challenges to face.
