All right guys, I wanted to say really quick, a huge thank you to everyone who joined us in Hot Messy Topics. As you guys know, we raised almost $700, and I think that even every little bit helps. That’s to give back to Maui right now. Everything is just… it’s devastating. I don’t even know. I’m so emotional when it comes to it because I’m such a Cancer and I just carry things, and I’m sending all of the love, all of the positive energy over to Maui right now, to all of the residents and anyone who is affected. You can see I’m flustered talking about it, but thank you to everyone who gave back. I appreciate you.

Now with that, guys, we’re back to talk about the Chrisleys, because it looks like they just landed a new reality TV show, especially with their parents in prison, and we’re going to break that down.

Now, before we jump in, you guys know how this works. Do all the YouTube things, smash that like button, show some love, and let’s jump right ahead.

For all your binge-worthy pop culture news, welcome to Up and Adam!

So you know that Todd and Julie Chrisley are currently serving time in prison, and yes, they are fighting to make their way out of prison, sure, but as of right now, they still reside in prison, right? Well, everybody was wondering: What does that mean for the future of the show? What does that mean for the family? Will they land another reality TV show, or will they just be taken off the air forever? These are all great questions, and now it seems like we have a few answers thanks to Page Six. So let’s get into it.

Page Six wrote: “Chrisley family lands thrilling new reality series while Todd and Julie remain in prison. Chrisley Knows Behind Bars: Chase, Savannah, Chloe, Grayson, and Nanny Faye Chrisley will all star in the new reality TV show while Todd and Julie Chrisley remain in their respective prisons.”

This is what Deadline reported today. Scout Productions, the company that produced Queer Eye, confirmed that they are already developing the docuseries that will see the kids, along with Todd’s mother, pick up their lives after their parents were locked up.

“Collaborating with the Chrisley family, who are nothing short of reality royalty for their much-anticipated return to TV, is beyond thrilling,” said the Chief Creative Officer Rob Eric in a statement. “They’re ready to bring their signature heart and quirk back to the fans, and we look forward to telling their story.”

Savannah, who previously teased a return to reality TV, gushed that she and her family are so happy to be back.

I also want to say this: I saw a couple of really nasty comments where people were like, “Your parents did awful things.” Their parents are still fighting this, but that, I don’t think, should always — I don’t ever really think it should directly affect the kids.

If the kids weren’t the ones who were doing these things, I think it’s like guilty by association. It’s like having your family — like, your parent did something wrong, and it lives with you forever. I’m not going to compare — I don’t know if you guys have seen, I watch a lot of true crime, and this might not be the best comparison, but there was Ted Bundy. Ted Bundy’s daughter ended up changing her name because she’s like, “I have nothing to do with my dad. I think my dad is a monster.” She changed her last name and never wanted to be associated with him again.

I think sometimes we’re so quick to say, “Well, you carry that last name and that last name has so much shame to it,” but really, they didn’t do anything. Their parents are the ones who were accused of doing something, and I think we can give a little grace to that. They accumulated a huge fan base, and that fan base loves them, wants to see what’s going on, and even if people don’t love them, they’re curious, like, “What the hell is this family up to?”

The time is right to share our story, and we couldn’t have found better partners than Scout Productions. Their ability to balance pop culture and empathy through authentic storytelling is unrivaled, and I know they’re going to find the right home for this next chapter of our lives.

Neither the Chrisleys nor Scout Productions immediately returned Page Six’s request for comment, but just months after Savannah’s parents reported to their respective prisons in January, Savannah shared that she had been talking to a few production companies about another show.

“We’re going to touch on where we’re at today — mom and dad being gone, how we’re coping with it, how we get through it. Also, having two kids, and all of us stepping in to make sure they have what they need emotionally, psychologically, physically — all the things. I feel like there’s a level of humor to it as well.”

Nanny Faye also seemed eager about the idea, as she told her granddaughter that she’s ready. “We’ll say, ‘Look at these bounce-back Chrisleys,’” Nanny Faye said.

The family members are no strangers to being filmed, as they showcased their lives on Chrisley Knows Best for 10 years. However, the USA show was canceled in November of 2022 after Todd and Julie were both sentenced to prison for fraud and tax evasion. Todd has since been serving out his 12-year sentence at Federal Prison Camp Pensacola in Florida, while Julie is spending the next seven years two and a half hours away at the Federal Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.

What does this new show look like? I feel like I can map it out for you, just as someone who watched the production of Vanderpump Rules. The kids will film what it’s like for Savannah to step into the role of a 20-something-year-old parent of teenagers and kids that don’t necessarily belong to her. These family members became her responsibility because of what happened with her parents, forcing her to grow up really fast.

Nanny Faye will most likely step in as the matriarch and guide Savannah through navigating new parenthood. We’ll also see her brothers and how they’re affected by this. I’m sure we’ll get a lot of emotion from the younger siblings, especially when it comes to talking about Todd and Julie on camera.

One of the biggest questions I have is: Will we be seeing cameos from Todd and Julie? It’s a great question. We don’t know. Can they film in prison? Probably not. But will they film audio, like if Savannah is on the phone with her dad calling from prison? We’ve seen this before on shows like The Real Housewives of New Jersey and The Real Housewives of Atlanta. We’ve seen former cast members call in from prison, and the cameras capture those phone calls.

But guys, I don’t want to just give you this without asking your opinions. I am so curious what you have to say about this, so go ahead and comment below and let us know what you think. More importantly, before you go, don’t forget to smash that like button. If you’re not subscribed, get subscribed. Don’t forget to hit that notification bell, and we’ll see you next time.
