Last night, The Curse of Oak Island returned with some exciting updates. The team has narrowed down the treasure location to an area they’re calling the “Baby Blob,” just off the Garden Shaft. This week, Ian Spooner shared results from the geoscientists that showed promising data from the recent water samples.
Marty Lagina couldn’t hide his excitement as Ian presented graphs indicating a smaller area of interest within The Blob, now reduced to a manageable 20 ft by 20 ft section buried between 80 and 120 ft underground. Interestingly, they detected not just gold, but also copper, zinc, and tin, suggesting the presence of brass and bronze—potential indicators of a hidden treasure!
However, it’s worth noting that the team has drilled multiple times into The Blob, including six attempts at the Baby Blob, finding little of real value. Last night, they placed a borehole drill over the Baby Blob, but once again, the results were disappointing. The soil was loose in some areas, hinting they might be close, but it’s a large space, and they could have missed the treasure by inches.
In other news, the Dumas Mining Company has excavated 44 ft of the Garden Shaft, and Rick and Scott got to explore it—fulfilling a childhood dream for Rick. They only need to dig another 40 to 50 ft to tunnel into the Baby Blob, which could finally unlock Oak Island’s secrets.
On Lot 26, Gary and Jack Begley discovered a piece of jewelry that needs thorough testing to determine its age and composition. Meanwhile, historian Terry Deveau examined an ancient well on Lot 26, noting its similarities to another well linked to the Templar Knights, adding more intrigue to the site.
As the sun rises over Oak Island, the team feels a mix of excitement and tension. The new scientific data has narrowed down the treasure’s potential location to the Baby Blob, a term coined by Dr. Ian Spooner. Initial scans indicate this smaller anomaly could harbor hidden treasures or tunnels.
With the team mobilized, they’re eager to explore this promising site. Dr. Spooner noted that the Baby Blob exhibited signs of man-made alterations, hinting at a significant breakthrough. The drilling revealed a cavity, and as they lowered a camera into it, they spotted wooden beams arranged in a pattern—possibly a vault.
The excitement grew as they explored further, uncovering ancient artifacts and a crude map etched into the rock, which seemed to guide them through the island’s underground network. The Baby Blob is shaping up to be a crucial piece of this complex puzzle.
Stay tuned for more updates as the adventure continues!
