A lot of people are going to say, “How does a 26-year-old afford a home like this? How can she maintain it? How can she also maintain the lifestyle of hers and these two children, her siblings, that she has to care for?”

I say, you know, I have a Hustler’s mentality. It’s just how I am. I got it from both my parents. I don’t think I’m too good to get out here and work. I don’t think I’m better than anyone else to have to do what the normal everyday person has to do.

For me, I’ve got my podcast going. We are in negotiations with the network to start filming our show again. I have my real estate business, product lines, and things of that nature. So, I’m always out there hustling. I have no other choice. I have two kids to take care of, and I have to take care of myself.

I’ve tried to put myself in a position where the kids’ lives don’t change. My life may change, but theirs shouldn’t. If I have to go without for them to have, I will. I feel like that’s just a parent’s mentality—you do the best you can for your kids.

Luckily, my podcast Unlocked with Savannah has been such a hit. I like to say God provides just when He knows you need it. The podcast came about when the show got canceled after Mom and Dad left, and it’s been a place for me to be open, honest, and vulnerable, something I didn’t get to do before.

When it comes to truth and honesty, how honest have I been with Grayson and Chloe about their parents? They know it all. My parents never hid anything from them. Unfortunately, they see things online, so we would rather they hear it from us before they see it elsewhere. Not everything written is true—there’s always some truth spun into a bigger story.

They’ve always gotten the truth from us firsthand, and because of that, they’ve grown up fast. But what kid doesn’t need therapy? What adult doesn’t? It’s life. You go through things, and it’s about how you deal with it.

Are they in therapy? Oh, yeah, they’re in therapy every week. It’s been a saving grace for them, but it’s hard for me because I’m always on the go. At the end of the night, I hit a wall every few months, mentally and emotionally exhausted. It’s tough because I’m having to play mom, dad, and sister, and it’s hard to balance those roles. Grayson is 17, and Chloe will be 11 tomorrow.

How are we celebrating her birthday? We had a Halloween birthday party for her, and in the morning, we’ll go to her favorite breakfast spot before school. I’m taking cupcakes to her school for a class celebration.

The hardest part about staying strong for them is when they hear things on the internet or at school. I had to talk to Chloe’s teachers because she got in trouble at school for talking. She’s such a good child, but now that she’s in a loving environment, she’s found a new personality and wants to talk to everyone.

One teacher threatened to email her parents, and Chloe came home and joked, “Good luck getting a response.” But that joke hurt when she realized she doesn’t have her parents right now. So, I had to sit down with her teachers and explain that not every child has a typical family. We live in a world where some kids only have a mom, a dad, or two moms or dads. We need to be more mindful about the words we use with kids in these situations.

When we visit our parents in prison, we hear stories about others there, people Dad has gotten close to. We catch up on life, and you realize just how much happens in a week when you only have one chance to share it all.

I’m sure I’ve been telling them about Robert since we made it Instagram official this week. What do Todd and Julie think of Robert? They’re happy for me and remind me to live a life for myself too.

And yes, we’re working on a new reality show, including the kids and the family. It will definitely touch on my relationship, and if Robert wants to be a part of the show, great. If not, that’s okay too. The show will focus on our real estate business in Nashville that Chase and I are building. It’s been amazing.

We don’t know what could happen with Mom and Dad—they could be home after the first of the year if the appeal goes in our favor. I’m hoping the show will include all of us, including them. So, stay tuned!
