In the years since Alaskan Bush People first started airing in 2014, the Brown family have changed a lot. Not only have they gone from the wilds of Alaska to the glitz and glamor of Beverly Hills to the way-less-remote wilds of Washington, they’ve also just grown up.

BILLY BROWN

Billy tied the knot with his wife, Ami Brown, in 1979. The pair welcomed seven kids, Matthew, Gabriel, Rain, Snowbird, Joshua, Noah and Bear, during their 49-year marriage.

Unfortunately, the Brown family patriarch died in 2021 after suffering a seizure, his son Bear confirmed in an Instagram post at the time. “Our beloved patriarch Billy Brown passed away last night after suffering a seizure,” he wrote. “He was our best friend — a wonderful and loving dad, granddad and husband and he will be dearly missed. He lived his life on his terms, off the grid and off the land and taught us to live like that as well. We plan to honor his legacy going forward, to continue with his dream. We ask for privacy and prayers during this painful time!” Billy appeared on the show since its debut in 2014 up until his death.

AMI BROWN

During season 8 of Alaskan Bush People, Ami revealed she was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2017 and given a three percent chance to survive by medical professionals. One year later, Ami confirmed her cancer was in remission.

Now making strides in her health, the mother of seven frequently shares her numerous outdoor adventures with her more than 66,000 Instagram followers.

MATT BROWN

The oldest of all the Alaskan Bush People kids was already 30 when fans first met him on the show back in 2014. Matt hasn’t been on the show since season 8. After a rehab stint in 2016 for alcohol addiction, he moved to California. He launched his YouTube channel in 2019, which he regularly updates with content about his life after the show.

The channel boasts more than 38,000 subscribers and brings in more than 2,000 views per video.

GABE BROWN

Gabe was sporting a serious look with sideburns and a leather jacket when he joined the show at age 22. Gabe married wife Raquell “Rose” Pantilla in January 2019 and they walked down the aisle in a second ceremony that June. In December of that year, they welcomed their first child together, a daughter named Sophia. In October 2021, Raquell took to Instagram to announce that she and Gabe had secretly welcomed baby No. 2 together.

BAM BAM BROWN

Bam Bam was 28 years old when the show premiered in 2014. Bam Bam has been in a long-term relationship with his girlfriend, Allison Kagan, the couple started dating in 2016. He took a brief hiatus from filming the show in 2017 and returned in 2019.

It’s unclear if Bam Bam and Allison are still together. However, Bam Bam often shares updates about his life with his more than 182,000 followers on Instagram.

BEAR BROWN

Bear was 27 years old when he made his reality TV debut with his family. Bear is now a father to sons River and Cove and a husband to wife Raiven. His family of four lives near Seattle.

In May 2024, Bear revealed their little family was expecting another addition. “My little wolf pack getting even bigger soon!” he captioned a family photo. “Raiven is an amazing mother, there is nothing she can’t do! I don’t know how I got so lucky! Feeling very blessed!!!!”

NOAH BROWN

Noah is the youngest of the Brown brothers as he was only 20 years old when the show premiered. Noah has also started a family of his own. He married wife Rhain Alisha in August 2018, and they welcomed baby No. 1 together — a son named Elijah Connor — in February 2019. They expanded their family when they welcomed baby No. 2, a son named Adam Bishop, in October 2021.

SNOWBIRD BROWN

Snowbird was already legally an adult at 18 years old when the show started. Bird was the last of her family to join social media, now boasting an Instagram profile with more than 139,000 followers.

The reality TV alum runs an Etsy shop, SnowBirdCrafts, where she sells hand-crafted earrings, candle holders and more.

Snowbird went public with a cancer scare during season 14 of Alaskan Bush People, which premiered in 2022. After experiencing abdominal pain, Bird’s family forced her to see a doctor — where she learned that she had a large cystic tumor that was taking up her entire abdomen. Bird underwent surgery to remove two large tumors, but the procedures were not captured by reality TV cameras due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The doctor reassured Bird that she did not have cancer, but cautioned that there is a greater than 50 percent chance of cancer or the tumor returning in the future.

In April 2024, Bird shared a health update regarding her condition with fans. “I have some tests coming up just to make sure they haven’t come back but so far they haven’t, then I have my six-month appointment with my main doctor,” she told her Instagram followers. “I also have some blood work and a couple of other tests coming up, just to make sure nothing has come back but hopefully it hasn’t.”

RAIN BROWN

The youngest of the clan, Rain, was only 10 when we first met her during season 1, but she always seemed wise beyond her years. The now-grown-up is in a happy relationship with a man she met at work. “I was a waitress, and he was the head chef, we were fast friends and slowly fell madly in love with each other,” she captioned a January 2024 tribute. “It was like magnets that you just couldn’t keep apart any longer, one day I came to visit and I never left.”
