Todd Chrisley Claims He's Being Treated Poorly Behind Bars
Reality TV star Todd Chrisley says life behind bars is getting worse,
with conditions beyond harsh.
“You’ve got rats, you’ve got squirrels
in the storage facility where the food is.
They just covered it up with plastic
and tore the ceiling out because of all the black mold
and found a dead cat in the ceiling
that dropped down on the top of the food.”
Chrisley, who is serving 12 years
at a minimum-security prison in Florida,
spoke exclusively to News Nation’s Brian Ino.
He says prison officials don’t want him doing interviews.
“Do you think they’re trying to send a message to you
to stop speaking out?”
Chrisley says he’s being kept from praying in the chapel.
“How are they retaliating against him?”
His main job is in the prison chapel;
that’s where he works,
and he’s very, very religious.
He says ever since he did the interview with us,
they’ve shut down the chapel
and they won’t let him in to do his job,
and they won’t let him in to pray.
He says the warden won’t let him speak to his wife, Julie,
who’s serving seven years at another federal pen.
“She denied it within 15 minutes of getting the request.
I have not spoken to Julie since I’ve been here.”
The Federal Bureau of Prisons issued this statement:
that its facilities are safe, secure, and humane.
All allegations of misconduct, including retaliation,
are referred for administrative action and/or criminal prosecution if warranted.
This is how Chrisley used to live
at the peak of his reality TV fame on “Chrisley Knows Best”
on the USA Network.
“This is my closet.”
His walk-in closet was bigger than his prison cell.
Some of his complaints do sound a bit trifled.
“Before she, than you, tuna aw…”
“I get why people don’t feel bad for Todd Chrisley.
I don’t necessarily feel bad for Todd Chrisley,
but this is a prison with non-violent offenders.
I think someone should be held accountable.”
